    Once upon a time there lived a man named Jack.

    (continued from previous page)
    soldiers minding the horse . Jack said he would steal him. He went to the stable -door and rolled in the 'muck'. The soldiers came out and carried in Jack and put him lying the floor . They got a bottle in his pocket and smelt to it. In a moment they were all asleep and Jack went out and carried the horse to his mate who gave him the weight of himself in gold.
