    was regarded as a day when the fairies were very powerful. If a person picked flowers on that day the fairies were likely to do that person an injury.
    The whole month of May was regarded as being unsuitable for going to live in a new house. Death was in store for some member of the family if the change to the new house took place during May.
    These superstitions are sometimes called pishoges but pichoges are things of the past.
