    the bargain made they would spit on each others hands and say "come on for a drink". They used to put a cut with a scissors on the animals hips and a mark of black-paint or car-grease on their backs. They used to take the rope off the animal when sending them by train but if they were going by road they would leave the rope on them for luck.
