  1. Long ago there lived a Land Lord's wife and her name was Maire. She was the wife of a great land-lord who lived at Bantry He was a good man but his wife was a bad woman. Unknown to Land-Lord she had a lot of servants she also had gardens of her own. She had servants for taking care of them. One day the Land Lord was out gathering the rent and while she got him out she told one of the servants to say to the Land Lord that she was gone to the chapel praying. 'Alright,' said the servandgirl. What did the old Lady do when she got the chance but to put a sheet around her and went away. In the end she came to a car. There were two chains in it and she tied them around herself. Every house she passed, she used to rattle them and, when she people saw her, they used to run in to their homes and go under the table what fear it was
