  1. Travelling Folk
    "Travelling people" still call to my house. Sometimes the same people come twice a year. They are very poor, and they earn their living by begging.
    They sell laces, hair pins, and safety pins. Some sell ware, and others sell tables they make themselves. Some people buy from them.
    If the "travellers" are honest they are generally welcome. They never remain longer than a night at a time. There is a shake - down made in the corner near the fire for them, and there are clothes kept specially for that purpose. Some bring their own food, and they make the tea
