  1. Staigue Fort is situated in the village of Staigue eleven miles from the village of Sneem and about six miles from Derrynane. It is built of peculiar shaped stones and is circular in shape. There are winding flights of stairs along the interior of the walls and several caves which are great items of interest to tourists. Antiquarians explore these caves with lighted candle. There is a caretaker in charge who charges people at the gate.
