  1. The Local History of Derryleigh
    There is but very little local history concerning this place. Long ago there was a battle fought in Commyauna between the Irish and the Danes. Lots of people were killed and the Danes were defeated.
    There was a battle fought in "Beann" which is a mountain about a mile or so from my house in Derryleigh. The battle was fought there when the English were trying to put down the Irish religion. A lot of people and priests were
