    Another kind of bread was stampy which was made out of grated raw potatoes mixed with wheaten flour and baked this was very rare you would only get it at Christmas and also at a wedding. The most common kind of bread was pache which was a very healthy bread. Very seldom they made sweet cake and the fruit was so scarce in it when they did make it, that they used stand at the door and throw the raisins at it. Once there lived a man and he never got married, he used do his own cooking, one day he got a pail of water and put his own make of flour into the water until it was thick, next he took it out and kneaded it on the table, he cut it into pointers and baked it on a griddle, and it is said it was the finest bread that was ever baked. At night some men used put a pointer of pache on a sod of turf near the fire and eat it when it was hot with a quart of sour milk. During the European war all the flour
