    There was a man cutting turf in Ballinagar bog and he saw a little Leipreachan up on a sod of turf out in the wild bog.

The poor man went back to his work again and after a while he saw the Leipreachan again near the bank of the river Feale on the Innesmore side and he was laughing at the man. The Leipreachan then said to the man that he would be smarter the next time he would see him.
    There was also another poor man living in a little house and one day while he was out gathering sticks for his fire he saw at a distance away a little Leipreachan. He walked up behind him and he kept a tight grip of him. He asked him for gold. He told the Leipreachan that he was a poor man and the Leipreachan told him to dig down near a certain tree and so he did. He found the gold and he went home
