- We have a churn at home.
It is a very small churn.
It is about two feet wide in the top and bottom.
All the sides are round and sloped in the centre.
The various parts of the churn are called the dash, the lid, the butter spades, the trensher, the pail, and the cup.
Butter is made twice a week in the Summer and once in the Winter. The people of the house do the churning and if any strangers come in during the churning they help at the work.
It is and old saying that it is unlucky to go out without taking the dash. The churning takes a(continues on next page)- Collector
