craft I have been able to discover is at "Mrs Crotty's - Pottle - Losset P.O. who had (or still has) an old spinning wheel. Before her mother-in-law died a few years ago this spinning wheel was in use.
Wood work: Local men make wheels, churns, stools, pig-troughs etc. One of these is a man named Donohoe who lives beside Mullahoran Church. (He is nick-named the "pounder" whether it has any bearing on his trade or not)
A craft carried on in this locality until about fifty years ago was the making of "leaded sticks" for the faction fights. A hollow was made in the tops of the sticks and lead and metal put in, and the stick was bound up again. The man who made these sticks was "John Reilly Cloncovid" now dead.
