- Two classes of travelling folk come round now. First - the ordinary tramp or fear suibhail.
Secondly - the Gypesies. Generally foreign who travel in caravans and sell lace and baskets etc. The women-folk tell fortunes.
The country people like the ordinary tramp. In most houses he is made welcome and will never want a meal or bed.
They usually have a lot of varied news gathered in all parts which they retail to anyone who will listen. Some country people have a great respect for their knowledge and use them as a means of communication with friends.
