- Mrs. John Meagher, Ashe Road (Cudville), Nenagh has a churn. It is only a four gallon churn. It is seventeen inches tall and it is fifty six inches wide at top and bottom. It is three years old. The various parts of the churn are:- the churn itself, the beaters, the lid, and the handle. There is no mark on the side of it. Sides are round.Butter is made once a week in Winter and twice in Summer.Strangers who come into the house while the churning is being done always help at the work, so that they will not get a look at the butter or steal it.Sometimes the churning takes about two hours in Summer and it takes(continues on next page)
