Bí mise lá amháin ag dul thart chúl a' Chairn

    (I)
Bhí mise lá amháin ag dul thart chúl a' Chairn
mé ag iomchur go sasta mo chléibhín cloch-aoil,
Seo chugam aníos an t-óganach croideamhail.
'S a capall go síodamhail leis faoi na thóin.
    (II)
D'fhág sé ag Pádruig é 's ba ró-mhaith an áit
Go bhfágadh sé seal ráithe go bhfuigheadh sé neart féir
Chuaidh sé ar a mhianadradh amach 'un na dísirte,
Go bhfághadh sé go seiseamhail a bhean Seamus Bháin.
eadar arán a's maoin preataí is fíón,
Gur sgiob sé (?) bhaoidheach leis un Aird Bháin.
