   Frank Clarke has a field called the kill park. This field got its name because there was a kill in it at one time. He has also a field called the horse knowe field because at the time of the battle of Glenmaquin. Cromwell tied his horses there. He has a field called the well park, because there are two wells in it. He has also a field called Houstons craft because this field belonged to a man called Houston at one time. He has also a field called the broad bray because it is so broad and so steep. He has a field too called the Cobh hill. It got its name because there is a cave runs up through it.
   In this townland a burn runs through it. That burn is called the battle burn because there was a battle fought on its banks in the time of Cromwell.
   There is a hill above the school which is called bris macroide. It is a steep little hill and it would break your heart before you would get up to the top of it at the top of the hill there is a lane called "griannia og lane". I dont know why this lane got its name.
