    Old bonny used to teach a school,

    Most of these verses were told to me by Mr Hilliard. This son was written about the dispute of the right of way in Glenmaquinn.
    Old bonny used to teach a school,
    He gave his learning free,
    The scholars they all left him,
    Except for two or three,
    The learning of navigation,
    And lattin roots also,
    He said it would be useful
    No matter where they go.
    When he gets them educated,
    He'll put them in a post,
    He'll make old Barney sea captain,
    For short voyages round the coast,
