  1. Many years ago there lived in Ballintrieve a man named Mickey the Rogue, who was very cruel to his wife.
    One night as she was being abused, she went out and called the fairies to her from the hills. About ten o'clock they came in. Sitting around the hearth they pulled coals out on their toes. Then they decided what to do with him.
    While the discussion was going on, some decided to kill him, others decided to burn him, and the remainder decided to bury him under the hearth. But they gave him strict orders, if he ever abused or fought with his wife again, and they having to come back they would kill him. So the fairies departed to the hills.
