  1. Many years ago, there lived in Carrowhill a woman named Sarah Doherty. Carrowhill lies North on the way to Carndonagh. One day as she was sitting at the fire a fairy came in and asked her for some Indian Meal. The woman refused to give the meal. Then the fairy ran up to the cradle and took the baby with her. About ten day's afterwards the fairy came back again asking for more meal. The woman give the fairy the meal this time. Then the fairy went up and left the baby back in the cradle again and the fairy disappeared.
