  1. Many years ago, there lived a woman near the Mintiaghs Lough.
    One day, as she was sweeping the floor, she saw a cow out on the street. This cow had strayed. The woman put her in and milked her but alas! she only gave a drop of milk. She let her out again, and on the street she let three roars. The woman didn't know what was wrong with the animal.
    Running out with the broom in her hand, she struck the animal. The cow kicked up her heels, and letting three roars, ran down into the "Mintiaghs Lake" where she disappeared.
