  1. Many years ago a woman named Kathleen McKinney lived in Owenboy. She was a very poor woman. Owenboy is situated about half a mile south-east from Drumfries school. One evening as she was sweeping the floor a fairy came in, and told her that a quarry would open and she would be wealthy. Kathleen did not believe her at first. It was not long after until Kathleen was rich because the fairy's words came true.
