  1. Weather Lore
A far off ring shows a near hand storm.
When Ned's Rock, Townland of Carnamoyle, Parish of Muff, Co.Donegal, is shining we are going to have rain.
When the wild geese go from Lough Foyle, Co.Donegal to Lough Swilly, Co.Donegal, it is a sign of bad weather. If they go from Lough Swilly to Lough Foyle it is a sign of good weather.
    Sarah Grant, 8th November, 1937.
    Carnamoyle, Muff, Co.Donegal,
    Material obtained from Mrs. Grant,

    The new moon soon seen,
Frosty weather both sharp and keen.
When there are spiders webs on bushes,
the coarser the web the coarser the weather,
and the finer the web the finer the weather.
When the hills look near is a sign of rain.
