- Weddings generally take place in this district before Lent. Tuesdays and Thursdays are generally the days on which people got married. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are considered unlucky days to get married.
May is supposed to be unlucky also and no-body in this locality was ever married in that month.
Most marriages nowadays take place before Lent and during the summer.
Long ago it was the same. There is a little poem in connection with marriages. The following is the poem as I have heard it.
"Mondays for health,
Tuesday for wealth,
Wednesday is no day at all
Thursday for losses,
