    water in Winter, in order to gather the butter. When the butter comes in the churn, we take it out with butter pats, and put it into a wooden dish to be washed and salted.
    I heard an old story about a woman that had 'a dead man's hand' for making the butter, and there was no end to all the butter she would have.
