  1. Local Monuments
    There are not very many old monuments in this district. Some are to be found in old churchyards, and old graveyards.
    There are the remains of an old graveyard in the townland of Cappagh. There is only one old monument to be seen in it.
    After the battle of Aughrim an Irish soldier went to rest near this graveyard. It is said that a man jumped out from under a ditch near him, and shot him.
    He was buried in the graveyard that was near him.
