  1. About five miles north of Tuam in the village of Lisaleen there is a lis. In the middle of this lis grows a tree. Long ago it was said that there was a valuable helmet under the tree. One day a crowd of men dug under it. Every time they stuck the spades in the soil they heard a baby crying.

  2. The owner of the Castlegrove demesne made his will before he died and got it printed on an iron door. The door was stolen and cast into the clairin lake. People searched for it but they never found it.
