    living in it namely Deans, Keanes, Wilses, Sheas, Moynahens, O'Learys, Creans, Fitzgeralds, Dunnes, O'Donnells, Quirkes, Wilses, Quirkes, Knightlys, O'Herlihys. There is only middling good land there. Most of the people keep around three or four cows but a couple of them keep only one cow. There is a big mountain over it up named Cathair Conroi.
    There were more families living in our village long ago than there are now. There was a family living below in Bothar a' Phona, named Dowlings and there is a gable of the house there yet and it is called "Dowlings" old House." There was another family living above in Daniel Quirkes field named Moriertys. There are the remains of old houses there yet. There were alot of houses there long ago and it is called the Fothracs all the time.
    One night long ago a travelling man slept up on one of these houses. At about twelve o'clock he woke up and he saw a light inside in the house. He was just going to run away when he saw
