    asked him for his purse, to the astonished Ned Hanlon, he gave it to him. On opening it he perceived a purse full of penny leaves instead of money. Ned Hanlon threw it at him and said he wouldn't have any of that. The Leipreachán pretended he hadn't any other purse, so Ned Hanlon said he would take him home if he wouldn't give the hidden purse up to him.
    Against his will the Leipreachán gave up his purse full of gold sovereign to Ned Hanlon, who with another companion who happened to be me, we went. D down to Mac Sweeney's public house, and had a fine drink out of some of it.
