  1. Once upon a time there lived a woman a man and there son who were very poor. The boy could not find any work, and he found it very hard to live. They had no money to buy turf or coal.
    One day the woman sent the boy out to the wood to cut down a tree for fire. When it was about dinner time the boy sat down under a tree to eat his bread then a little green man came up to him and asked him to give him some of the bread, the boy thought at first that he would not have enough for himself. The boy was so good hearted that he told him he could have it.
    Then the little man told the boy to follow him until they came to this tree. He told him to keep
