  1. Bread was made from oatmeal most long ago, grown locally in the land then the corn and wheat being ground into flour and the corn into meal.
    The different kinds of bread that were made were boxy that being made with flour, water, raw potatoes, boiled potatoes and then baked in a oven. Potato cake which they used to make from boiled potatoes new milk and flour then being baked in a oven.
    Pan-cakes were made from flour, sour milk and soda. Oaten-bread was made from oatmeal made with water, and baked in a griddle. Currants and raisins were put in the bread
