  1. Marriages took place the oftenest before Lent and Easter. It was unlucky for marriages to take place on the month of May or on the month of December.
    The man used to run away with the girl and leave her at at a cousins house until they would appoint a day for the wedding and this was called the run away matches.
    Matches were made around here and they used to receive a little money and a cow or sheep. I do not remember any
