    being open, and there was a tiny hold in the centre of the other end. Through this hole the wick was passed, and carefully kept in position in the centre of the mould which was then filled with tallow and hung up to harden. When the tallow had become hard the wick was cut free at the bottom of the mould and the candle was easily removed.
