  1. The wild birds found in this district are the seagull, curlew, blackbird, wren, robin, linnet, thrust, lark, magpie and swallow.
    Seagulls build their nests in he sedge at the lake edge. The eggs are blue with brown dots.
    Blackbirds build in hedges. The nest is made of clay and moss; the eggs are blue.
    Wrens build their nests in the eaves and magpies on the tops of tall trees. Boys are told that if they rob a bird's nest the bird will curse them.
