After the Passing of the Emancipation the Protestants of Killanly were building their Cathedral when one day a man arrived and told them to stop their work as their Church was never to go any higher. So the news boy told them that the Rev. Father Cowley who was Parish Priest of Castle Connor remindid his congregation that from this day forward that the English Church would begin to collapse. At that time there was a Catholic girl in the employment of one of the noted Protestants of the district so he acquainted all his fellow
