  1. Superstitions.
The Irish people are supposed to be very superstitious race. When they see magpies they say.
    One for sorrow
    Two for joy
    Three for a wedding
    Four for a boy
    Five for silver
    Six for gold
Seven for a secret which shall never be told.
A whistling man going out to fish would not be taken on board.
If you drop your glove it is a dissapointment.
If you drop a fork it is the sign that a lady visitor is coming to the house.
