  1. Local Cures.
    There are many kind of local cures. There is a cure for whooping cough which was used many years ago, that is to give the patient the crumbs of oat cake which had been fed to a donkey, afterwards putting the patient under the donkey three times
    Warts are supposed to be cured by rubbing them with a little black snail and washingsoda.
    Boils are cured by jagging them with gooseberry jaggs every one of them must be thrown over your right shoulder before the boils disappear.
    A cure for a cold is to drink hot jinger-buttermilk
