  1. If you find a horse shoe, and bring it home, and hang it over the door it is supposed to bring good luck.
    If you find a piece of coal, and bring it home it will bring good luck.
    Spill the salt, and if you do not throw a pinch of it over your left shoulder it is bad luck.
    Break a mirror, and it will bring seven years bad luck.
    When you are going to business in the morning and if the first person you meet is a red-headed woman you will have bad luck for the rest of the day.
    If you put your shoes on the table it will bring bad luck.
    If you bring the May into the house it will bring bad luck.
    If you find you have your stocking on inside out and change it, you are changing your luck.
    Green is supposed to be an unlucky colour.
    People will not move to a new house or to a place of business on a Saturday. As the saying is Saturday flitting is a short sitting.
    Burgulars will not burgle a house which is number thirteen as it is an unlucky number, and people will not live in a house which is number thirteen.
    Some motorists will not run over their thirteenth pedestrian, as it is an unlucky number.
