  1. On Old Song

The grey dawn had crept o'er the stillness of morning.

The grey dawn had crept o'er the stillness of morning.
When a dewdrop had glistened like an icicled breath
When the notes of the bugle had sounded its warning
A young Irish soldier lay sentenced to death.
No cold blooded murder had stained his pure conscience
He called for a witness his maker on high
He had simply bieng fighting for Ireland's loved freedom
Arrested and tried, he was sentenced to die.
    Chorus
Lay me away on the hillside to rest with the true and brave
There is a last dying prayer from ye all now I crave.
