  1. The name of my home district is Manninard. It is in the parish of Labane and in the barony of Dunkellin. There are three families in it. The approximate number of people are thirty five.
    In former times there were fourteen houses in the townland of Manninard, and the people were also more numerous. There are three thatched houses in it at present and the ruins of two old houses. Manninard got this name because it being up on a high hill. The oldest person is Mrs Callanan who is eighty seven
