    In the townland of Carran - thomas in the parish of Craughwell there is a hill situated which is called Cairn - Thomas.
    The hill is situated in the middle of the field. It is a natural mound on the summit there stands a cairn by which the townland got it's name. The history of Thomas is unknown.
    Rooe -
    Rooe is situated in the townland of Rooe in the parish of Craughwell. It got it's name from furze blossoms which bloomed there in great profusion.
