  1. Whooping
    There were numerous cures for this ailment in this district. One of them is to get a red ribbon from the patients God-father, and a piece of the God-mother's hair, and tie it around the patient's neck. Another cure was to boil a porcupine and to give the soup of it to the patient.
    Warts
    The local cure for warts was to steal a piece of meat from a neighbour. Rub it on the wart, and stick it on a bush, and while the meat would be decaying, the wart would be decaying. Another cure was to wash it in a hole of water
