  1. In the townland of Monksfield in the Ballymana school district there is a fort situated. Where the fort is situated the ground is elevated. It is circular in shape. There is a fence of earth around it. Nobody ever explored the interior of it but a member of the antiquarians society came to examine it to see if there were and skeletons in it. The entrance hole is partly small. The entrance hole is situated in the centre of the fort. Nobody ever interfered with it when ploughing or planting
