  1. My home district is Shrone.
    About nine families live in the district and about forty six people live there.
    The most common family name there is Dwyer.
    Some of the houses are new and nicely finished.
    Others are old but are nicely whitewashed and painted.
    An old woman lives in the district, she can speak some Irish.
    Her name is Mrs. Mac Elligott.
    Some of the land is arable land, some of it bog land.
    It is good for cultivation and for crops.
    Some of the young boys and girls of the district emigrated to England.
    Long ago many went to America.
    There was no houses in ruins in the district.
