  1. Many harmful weeds grow up amongst the crops at the present day.
    The harmful weeds that grow among the potatoes are the chick-weed the switch grass.
    The chick weed is harmful because it spreads rapidly and smothers up the crop.
    The switch grass is harmful because it rots the crop and prevents it from growing.
    The sorrel and the fialy-dhearg are harmful to the oats crop because they make it very thin and poor.
    The most harmful weed of all those is the praiseac weed which grows up among the wheat.
