  1. There were landlords in Ireland for hundreds of years until the time of Michael Davitt, but they are all gone out of the county now.
    Lewin was the landlord who owned the property of Kilmaine, he got the land from Cannon. Lewins have existed in Ireland since 1585, the people of Kilmaine fought until they took the land off him. General Lewin was the last of them who owned the property, he is in South Africa at present and owns a large property there.
