  1. Kilmaine is the name of this parish. Long ago there were thirteen castles in it: There is but one good in it now and that is in Turin. These castles were built by the De Bargas. When they were built first the English used live in them. They owned thousands of acres of land around the castle.
    If an Irishman was found inside the domain he would be brought to the castle and killed. There are
