The cows nose was touched with the fire, and it was then passed over her head and along her back and then under and around her three times. An old man named John Carney lived in this village about ten years ago. He and his wife were both very old and they had a heifer that had just calved. They went to the stable to perform the rite, but the cow became so infuriated
