- (continued from previous page), the forge in Cloonbulban is near a stream, and the others are by the roadside. All the forges have thatched roofs. Three of them have doors, and the other three have no doors. There is no need to lock them up when the smith is going away for it is a common belief that it is unlucky to take anything from a forge. It is also believed that the smith can trace the missing object by 'turning the anvil' on the thief, who will then suffer(continues on next page)
