    A Cure for a Sore Eye
    There was a women in Pulronaghane who had the charm to take a dust or any foreign matter out of the eye. She went into the room and got a saucer of water and said a prayer over the saucer. She let nobody into the room while saying it. The following is the prayer – Araig a chuir, Muire le suil a h-Aon Mhic, brithe braoinín, colg an coinlín, craobh úr, craobh glas, craobh chríon, ríbe cinn, ‘gus é ann ar fhaid. Tarraing é a Mhic Mhuire ‘gus tabhair an braoinín leat.
