    I need not thank her for my life,
    It was the people's prayer that saved from the scaffold high and from an early grave.
    That day of my trial when I stood on the dock when I Maldowney it gave me a dreadful shock.
    I knew that man was innocent just as well as me.
    But thank God and the Blessed Virgin
    From the scaffold we both are free.

    For our members of Parliament are working night and day.
    To bring our native Parliament to College Green once more
    And our Irish men and women wont be transported from the lovely Shamrock shore.
