    This dreadful news through Ireland spread it rang from shore to shor,

    This dreadful news through Ireland spread it rang from shore to shor,
    For such a deed no living man has ever heard before,
    Not even Cromwell in his time no worse deed could he do,
    The tans incore they murdered four young men in Killaloe
    II
    Three of those four being on the run and searched for here all round,
    And with the hero Egan in Williamstown was found,
    They asked if he was on the run to the rebels he proved true,
    Because he would not sell the pass he got shot in Killaloe.
    III
    On the 30th of November the history will go down,
    They were tracked and traced from Galway to a house in Williamstown,
    They did not get a a fighting chance they were captured while asleep,
    And the way that they illtreated them it would cause your blood to creep.
